Episode 3 is directed by Jack Bender and written by Damon Lindelof. The featured character here is Kate. Jack realize about Kates past as a deserted one. The signal returns here but decides not to let others know about the transmission. Sawyer shoots the dying marshal, trying to ease him of his sadness. In a flashbacks it shows here the life of Kate on an Australian farm, until she is arrested by the marshal.
In this episode Jack continues taking care of the patient wom he had operated on. The patient here is a U.S Marshal who keeps murmuring the same things over and over. “ Don’t trust her”, and “She’s dangerous.” Jack tries to figure out who that person he is talking about.
Jack is really trying to save the Marshal here. In the deep sleep of everybody , Boone tries to steal the gun from Sawyer. Everyone had been displease and decided as a group that Kate should hold on to the gun.
